Konnichiwa! The 99th Lions Clubs International Convention will be held in the charming City of Fukuoka, Japan, June 24th – June 28th, 2016.
Fukuoka is a well-balanced harmony between the old and new. Historically, it is the merging of two cities; the port city of Hakata and the former castle town of Fukuoka were unified. Fukuoka is the home of the oldest Zen temple in Japan and is well known for its gourmet food. This city has an abundance of fresh seafood, traditional festivals, and the most yatai (street food stalls) in all of Japan. Fukuoka City is also the pioneer in using reclaimed water; its urban vitality and heartfelt hospitality are just some of the reasons that make Fukuoka City a wonderful place to visit.
In today’s fast paced routines and schedules, Lions from across the globe represent a ‘guiding light’ in their promise to simply serve those in need. LCI’s convention offers a once-a-year opportunity to meet together to discuss the important matters of the day that will form the future of our association, and to create new friendships along the way. Make plans now to join us for an experience to remember!
